We've hit the big league!

Earlier this month the Cassowary Coast Region made it to the American Super Bowl, broadcast to hundreds of millions across the United States and the world.
The mock Crocodile Dundee trailer staring Chris Hemsworth and Paul Hogan has been revealed as Tourism Australia’s destination pitch.
Both Mission Beach and Tully Gorge have been featured in the new campaign. Council is working with Tourism Australia and Tropical Tourism North Queensland on how the region can capitalise on this exciting opportunity.

Bag Ban Deadline: 1 July 2018

The Queensland Government will enforce a state-wide ban on single-use plastic bags from 1 July 2018.

This ban will affect all retailers – from grocery stores to fashion boutiques, from convenience stores to fast food outlets – that currently use light-weight plastic bags, including HDPE plastic, biodegradable, compostable and degradable bags.

From April 2018, retailers should start to phase plastic bags out of their supply chain if they haven't already. Make the transition now to avoid penalties.
