Mothers Day Tea Concert - Cancelled
It is with sadness that we feel we have to make the decision to cancel the Mothers Day Tea Party. The safeguarding of all children and adults that would be present on the day is our main priority and in light of the uncertainty over the Corona / Covid 19 virus we feel that making the decision now is the most sensible one to take.
We understand that there will be children, parents and grandparents who will be really disappointed by the decision but it is hope that we will be able to put a date in our Summer Calendar for a substituted event.
Together with Bar Events UK and 'The Three Inch Fools', we are hosting a fun-filled family fete and festival finished with a roaring musical performance of Romeo and Juliet at Greystone Manor on Saturday 25th April!

The event will include a bar, food, games and music. At 5pm, 'The Three Inch Fools', a musical five-piece acting troupe, will take to the stage to perform a imaginative and vibrantly musical take on one of Shakespeare's play. We are excited to bring a mini Ghyllstonbury style event rounded off with a fabulous performance by The Three Inch Fools. Their Schools tour always sells out and has fantastic reviews - download the booking form here.
Northern Dance Centre presents Time to Dance: Life in a Day featuring Ghyll Royd pupils, past and present on Saturday 28th March 2020.

Best of luck to:

and ex-Ghyll Royd pupils Bryony and Verity!

Little Adventurers

This week we have looked at how much our cress has grown - we were so surprised! Outside we created our own potted plants using pretend flowers. We also dug in the allotment and found lots of worms - some were really big and some were tiny. We were all curious about them and took it in turns to hold one - they tickled!!

We planted lots of different seeds in the allotment and can't wait to see what grows.

Next week we will be having a week dedicated to our mums - sorry we can't tell you, it's a secret!!

Treasure Bag - Bring in a picture of yourself with your mummy.
Great Explorers

Great Explorers have had a fabulous week! We have walked down to the river and seen the blossom coming out - we came back and made our own pictures too! We have been busy learning our songs for the Mother's Day Tea Party, playing to a tempo and playing long and short notes on the tambourine and wood block.

Next week we will continue to watch the progress of our beans, finish planting our beans and hopefully go to the tarn on Ilkley Moor.

Treasure bag - Please can you send your child in with a WOW moment from home. It can be anything they felt proud doing at home - finishing a puzzle, swimming, a long walk, riding a bike etc. There are forms in the cloakroom but a picture would be great too! Thank you for your continued support.

What a week we have had! Not a second went by without something fun and exciting to do! We started our papier-mache planets - and will be finishing these next week.

For Science week, we have loved learning more about space, including starting our Wednesday morning with Space Yoga. Thank you so much to all our parents for all the effort you put into helping your children with Show and Tell each week. The facts and experiments you brought in were really great.
The children have worked tremendously hard during rehearsals for the Mother's Day Tea Party next Wednesday. We can't wait to share our songs with you.

We loved bringing our bikes into school this week for Sport Relief and also made our own obstacle course on Wednesday to tie in with the cause.

Next week, we look forward to welcoming mummies and grannies to School and are super excited to visit Harlow Carr on Monday!!

Show and tell - a fact or a picture of something to do with Spring.
