The History of Black Catholics through Poetry
In celebration of Black History Month, all are invited to a presentation by Mr. Jenario Morgan, author of the recently published book of poetry Black Nouns, who will share his poetry and insights on Black Catholics past and present, saints and common folk, on Sunday, February 26 th , in the church at 11:45 am-12:45 pm (after the 10:30 am Mass).
Mr. Morgan majored in Religious Studies at the University of Detroit Mercy, taught high school Religion in Detroit, served as the first diversity director of the Archdiocese of Detroit, and has been a member of the Knights of Columbus for forty years. Learn about and be inspired by the rich heritage and important contributions of Black Catholics throughout the history of the Catholic Church.
