Dear Parents and Guardians,

I want to use today’s newsletter to share the news that Dulce Curry will be leaving her position at Holy Cross School to pursue a new opportunity at the University of Notre Dame, beginning March 1st, 2023.  For the past six years, Mrs. Curry has been an integral part of our school community - so much so that it is hard to imagine our school without her!  Without a doubt, she has lived out our school’s mission to give glory to God through the total education of each and every child, making sure that every child and every Holy Cross family feels known, loved, and served on a daily basis.  Though we are sad to see her leave her current position, we are happy to know that we will still see her around often - as a parent, as a volunteer, and as a beloved member of our school and parish community.  Please join me in wishing her the very best!

At the same time, I’d like to announce that we are pleased to be able to fill Dulce’s position with someone who already knows and loves our school community and who is fully dedicated to advancing the mission and vision of our school.  Please join me in congratulating our very own Laura Hernandez (current PreK Immersion aide), who will be transitioning from the classroom to the office over the next few weeks.  Mrs. Hernandez and Mrs. Curry plan to work closely together to make the transition as smooth as possible for all families, faculty, staff, and students.

During this time of many transitions, I ask for your continued prayers for our school community.  May we continue to walk together in the richness of diversity while growing closer together in faith, knowledge, language, and culture.

Queridos Padres y Guardianes,

This week I’m happy to share more information with you about Walking with Moms… About 30 parishioners have volunteered to be involved in various ways in the Walking with Moms ministry- what a fantastic response to an important neighborhood outreach by the parish… The group has developed a survey, to be shared with school, parish and neighborhood moms, to gain an understanding of the needs of local women who are pregnant or have newborn or young babies. Walking with Moms wants to be a way our parish can offer loving support to any pregnant or parenting mom within our parish boundaries, whether in the parish, school, or neighborhood, to make sure no mom feels alone or afraid.

The ministry’s plan is to offer practical support through an emergency baby pantry of supplies and a website to connect moms with local resources and skilled parish volunteers. Walking with Moms also wants to offer friendship and spiritual help, perhaps through a monthly moms fellowship or prayer group. The group is excited and interested to see who the Holy Spirit sends our way. Please remember them in your prayer as they continue to develop this exciting outreach to our parish, school and neighborhood communities.
Walking with Moms is a new ministry at Holy Cross parish. Please take a few minutes to fill out this survey to help us think about how to use our resources to help Moms. Walking with Moms Survey
