Draft plan passed with no changes recommended.

You will recall that, with the full support of the Parish Council, the first draft of the Mawnan Neighbourhood Development Plan was sent to Cornwall Council at the beginning of August for its first official review.  This was a so-called SEA/HRA screening.

These acronyms refer to Strategic Environmental Assessment and Habitat Regulation Assessment, formal processes that NDPs have to undergo to ensure their plans do not require further study of the environmental and natural habitat impact of developments within the Parish.  This stage also offers Cornwall Council the opportunity to check Plans for compliance with all the relevant planning issues at county and national level, and offer advice on direction and make suggested changes and corrections.

Our draft passed this stage with no changes recommended, and no further comment, so we are now set to work on the final and fully fleshed out Plan which in due course the Parish Council will formally submit to Cornwall Council for approval; Cornwall Council will ensure that all parishioners have the opportunity to comment on the Plan during a six week consultation process.

We believe it is important that you should have the chance to comment at all stages of the process, so we are going to mount a small explanatory exhibition of the proposed Policies contained within the NDP, to be held in the Methodist Chapel hall in Mawnan Smith on September 27 and 28, and you are all invited to come and have a look and tell us what you think.  More details later.  Opening times will be 10am to 7pm on the 27th and 9am to 5pm on the 28th. We look forward to seeing you there.

All residents of the parish are invited to attend.
