Don't forget the next meeting of the NDP steering group will be held this Monday, 17th June in the bowling club at 7pm, and all are welcome to attend. The agenda is available here.

It is a key moment in the preparation of the Mawnan Neighbourhood Development Plan, because with the help of James Evans our consultant we have produced a series of proposed policies which, after review by the Parish Council, will be presented to Cornwall Council for screening as to whether we are required to undergo a Strategic Environmental Assessment.

We will explain these policies to you at Monday’s meeting - policies which have been written to reflect the answers and opinions you gave to us during consultation during the past year and a half that culminated in the big questionnaire last summer.

The team will show you the policies, and answer any questions you may have.  James Evans will be present to give an authoritative response to matters which pertain to planning rules, regulations and the so-called higher policies applied by central government or Cornwall Council in their Local Plan.

It is important to stress that this is not the formal consultation version of the document and that this will take place at a subsequent stage later in the year. However, we would like Parishioners to have a ‘first look’ at the 80-page document containing our draft policies and the supporting evidence - the document which will be made available for you to read at leisure and comment on (we’ll let you know later how) once it has gone to Cornwall Council.

Join us on Monday at 7pm as we draw back the curtain on the first reveal of the results of all your input to the NDP journey.
