The next NDP public meeting will be at 7pm on Monday January 28 at the Mawnan Smith Bowling Club in Carwinion Road.  You are invited to attend and hear how your steering group are preparing for the next phase of the NDP process in the light of Cornwall Council’s advice that a further parish-wide questionnaire will not be required. The agenda is available here.

If you have mobility issues and find it difficult to get to the Bowling Club, especially on dark evenings, pop a note with your name and phone number in the NDP mailbox in the Mawnan Smith bus shelter, or email and we will contact you to try and arrange a lift for you.
Future provisional dates for your diary are for further meetings on February 18 and March 18 - to be confirmed in our next newsletter.
In other news...
In December the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government announced that more than 700 Neighbourhood Plans had progressed to referendum.  We are not alone in walking this path!
One of the views expressed by many responders in answers to the recent questionnaire was that provision should be made for more affordable housing in the parish. The Cornwall Rural Housing Association is a charitable housing association which builds and manages affordable housing throughout Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.
The Association is run by a voluntary Board of Management which meets approximately every two months near Bodmin to decide on policy and monitor progress.
The members of the Board are all people with an interest in seeing more affordable housing developed to meet the needs of people living in rural locations throughout Cornwall and on the Isles of Scilly. Board members are appointed as individuals, not as representatives of any organisation or interest group.
They are seeking to recruit additional members to ensure that the Board continues to have a membership with a broad range of skills and experience.  If you are interested in their work and wish to apply to join their Board you can find the details in this
If you were among the 80 or so residents who attended the presentation by the Cornwall AONB unit on November 19 don’t forget that you can see more about their work on the website and check their link to ‘Latest News’ to see what they are doing to safeguard the scheduled sites that collectively cover over 3000 years of Cornwall’s heritage and history from the Bronze Age to the Second World War, or their launch this month of a series of 'Bee Healthy Walks' in some of the most iconic areas of Cornwall AONB all of which have a strong link to our important colonies of miner bees. They have also launched an app which you can download to your Apple or Android mobile devices to give you the opportunity to explore the twelve local sections of the Cornwall AONB from your armchair but better still to get out and about and explore these sections, which include the Helford passage, in person using their app as your guide.
