Opportunities

VIEW Northeastern:
An opportunity for Underrepresented PhD-bound students

VIEW Northeastern is a unique window that offers students interested in pursuing the PhD a closer view of the graduate school application process, connects them with peers from around the country as well as current Northeastern PhD students and faculty, and invites them to engage in career development activities.  Participants will especially benefit from face-to-face conversations with Northeastern faculty who will provide more information about their research agendas and the role they would have as the candidate¹s PhD advisor.

VIEW Northeastern takes place on November 2, 2018.  It is intended for undergraduate or masters-level students from historically underrepresented minority groups, women, and first generation college students.

All VIEW Northeastern participants will also be invited to participate in the New England GRADLab the following day, on November 3, 2018.  GRADLab is an event sponsored by the GEM Consortium that brings together representatives from many prominent New England research universities.

Students considering a research-based graduate program are encouraged to apply to attend VIEW Northeastern at: phd.northeastern.edu/view.  Based on the availability of funds, selected students will receive sponsorship to attend VIEW Northeastern, covering the cost of airfare, housing, and meals.
