SubhanAllah, we have entered the last 10 nights of Ramadan. May Allah accept your fasts and dua's, ameen.

Our major focus this past several months has been to support Afghan refugees and evacuees. While the numbers arriving are slowing down we know that many of the families will soon run out of government agency financial support. Unfortunately, this means that many families will face evictions with rising rents and inflation. MCSS is doing what we can to support families, but we can not do our work without your help.

2021 Donations and Expenses Summary

Did you know for every dollar you donated in 2021, 97 cents went directly towards bettering the lives of needy families in Austin? The largest portions of your donations went toward food assistance ($52,345) and rent assistance ($91,573). We also kept our operations low so that we make the greatest impact on the lives of the families we serve. Your donations supported families with: food, rent, clothing, legal fees, counseling and other expenses such as internet and household purchases.

Eid Toy Drive

This year we are excited to host an Eid Toy Drive for Afghan refugee and evacuee children, an initiative started by our lovely community members! There are over 200 Afghan children celebrating Eid in Austin for the first time this year, let's make it a memorable one for them! Donate $25, $35 or $50 to purchase a gift for a child today.

Donations will be received on LaunchGood, gifts will then be purchased for each child, wrapped, and delivered before Eid. We are almost to our goal, help us reach our goal to give every child a gift!
