Yesterday, the 6th graders had a great adventure. Their first activity was a a class called Forest Ecology. During Forest Ecology students learned about ecosystems, the plants and animals of the forest, animal tracks, how to use landmarks and a compass to keep from getting lost and the dangers and impact of forest fires.  During their time in the forest some students were lucky enough to see live deer!
After Dinner, students learned about Owls as predators. Students got to dissect an owl pellet which produced skeletal remains of rodents and a shrew that the owl had eaten.

All of the students had a very busy 1st day and went to sleep right away.

This morning we will be having a geology and engineering class and an Art in Nature class.
