WHAT HAPPENED NEXT FOR YOU? Reviewing the Loving Earth Project

It’s about five years since the Loving Earth Project was first conceived, and it has grown and developed far beyond our wildest dreams. We know of over 500 textile panels that have been made, dozens of exhibitions, workshops and other events have been held, and four books have been published, each very different in content, and each illustrated with different Loving Earth panels.

Thank you for your support for the project.

The steering group would now like to review how the project has helped people to engage with the climate crisis, which was its underlying aim.
If you have been involved in any way,  seen an exhibition, or read one of our books please respond to our short survey
We are keen to hear your stories of actions taken, new learning, attitudes changed or other responses, in whatever small ways,  If you prefer to tell your story some other way (eg by video) you can do that as well (but ideally please complete the survey too).

If you know others who have seen the project or participated in it please pass on this invitation to them.
Please respond by 20th February, but earlier responses would be helpful.

Loving Earth Books : special offer

Our latest Loving Earth book,  Caring for the World We Love, is suitable for children and adults of all aged. The Quaker Arts Network (which is responsible for the Loving Earth Project) is keen that it is widely shared. So we are offering special prices on bulk orders received by 29 February (or until stocks run out, if before then). The retail price is normally £5, but if you order 10 or more copies, you will be charged £2.50 per copy, and orders of 30 copies or more will be charged at £1.50 a copy, including UK postage. This offer ONLY APPLIES for orders received via the website, at Please quote reference FEB24.

All our publications continue to be sold via the Quaker Bookshop, and at selected exhibitions,  while stocks last. However we are no longer able to take direct retail orders via our website.

Exhibitions and other developments

The project continues to grow in new directions, and we are delighted to have been invited to exhibit at the National Needlework  Archive in Berkshire for 12 weeks this Spring. NB it’s not open to the public every day, so please check their website before turning up.

Exhibitions are also being planned elsewhere in the country, including Devon and Winchester.
Please contact if you’d like to organise one in your area.

The Protestant Church in France will be taking up the project across France, developing their own French language materials and holding exhibitions for the next couple of years.
A group of our textile art panels will go on tour there an they hope many more will be added.

Loving Earth Communications

In order to keep the project going, we are having to simplify some of our arrangements.

Loving Earth events will in future only appear on the QAN events calendar, and we shan’t add them to the LEP events page.

News of the Loving Earth Project will be included in Quaker Arts Network newsletters, usually every two or three months. You are welcome to join the QAN mailing list, by emailing to keep up to date.

We don’t expect to issue many more Loving Earth Project newsletters, but will continue to add to the online gallery etc. If you make a textile panel that you’d like included, please send us a good quality photo of the panel (on its own), ideally taken from above and in good light. Please email it, with your text (in the body of the email) to Don’t forget to mention in your text at least one action you are taking.

If you haven’t looked at our gallery in a while, do take another look. New panels are appearing regularly!

Thank you for all you do to adapt to the changing environment and help care for the future of our precious and beautiful Earth and all of its inhabitants.
