Update #2 to the Constellation COVID-19 Policy
Original Published Policy Reinstated
Hello friends!
First off, we want to thank everyone for their support and understanding while we navigate through the continuing pandemic and attempt to put in place a COVID-19 Policy for Constellation 2022 that is both reasonable and science-based.
With that mentioned, we realize that we made an error in updating our COVID-19 Policy to require the use of the new bivalent booster, so we are rolling back the previous update (9/6/22) and reinstating the original policy. This means that all attendees over the age of 6 months must be vaccinated + boosted, if previously eligible, to attend Constellation 2022.
Why are we making this change? Well, it all comes down to the timing.
When we initially set the September 8 deadline for any CDC-related updates, we had assumed that they would authorize a second dose of the original monovalent booster, not that they would release an updated bivalent booster AND shorten the timeframe between getting it and your most-recent dose of the vaccine/booster.
With the CDC update coming out late on Friday afternoon before a holiday weekend and an already-scheduled Shooting Star newsletter for Tuesday morning, we rushed to update the Policy without fully considering the impacts to both our and the broader community.
Thus, we are reinstating the original policy and recommending (but not requiring) that anyone who is eligible and able to receive the updated bivalent booster do so. As the CDC definition for “up-to-date” kicks in the moment you receive your booster, you have up until the time you arrive at the event to do so.
The full COVID-19 Policy is available on our website, including the originally posted cut-off dates for booster eligibility.
Please direct any questions about the Policy to COVID@constellationburn.org. Again, thank you for your understanding that we are all human (well, except maybe Karnak) and doing our best. Hopefully this update resolves any concerns that may have arisen in the last two days.

COVID POLICY UPDATE #2
REINSTATEMENT OF ORIGINAL POLICY
If you are:
UNVACCINATED - Complete Initial Series / Single Dose before Sept. 21, 2022
If you are Vaccinated and Completed the:
INITIAL SERIES (Moderna or Pfizer) before May 5, 2022 = Booster Required
INITIAL SINGLE DOSE (J&J) before July 5, 2022 = Booster Required
Same day Booster is OK
Proof of Vaccination Required. Card, Image of Card, or BoH Certification

GATE HOURS
Major changes to our Gate Hours for Constellation 2022:
*Carry-In Only after 8pm on Friday*
*No Entries after 4pm on Saturday*
*No Longer allowing In & Outs*
The Gate hours for Constellation 2022 are as follows:
Thursday, October 6: 12pm (noon) to 11:59pm (midnight)
Friday, October 7: 9am to 11:59pm (midnight)
Full access from 9am to 7:59pm
Carry-in only from 8pm to 11:59pm (midnight)
Saturday, October 8: 9am to 4pm, carry-in only
In & Outs will no longer be allowed at Constellation.
Exceptions will be provided for attendees to return in the event if they have to leave and seek medical care.
Arrivals after 8pm on Friday, October 7 or anytime on Saturday, October 8 prior to gate closure at 4pm will be directed to park your vehicle in the front parking lot and carry-in your belongings.
