Plan a Bingo Party at Home: Tostado Bingo - COVID style

The Loomis Soroptimist club is known for the Tostado Bingo fundraiser, generally held each spring at the Loomis Veteran's Hall. This year we are offering virtual Tostado Bingo - COVID style. Call up your family and friends  and invite them to join us. Consider hosting a party with your safe pod of people. It will break the monotony of staying at home while helping the club raise funds for scholarships, the senior center and the Dream It Be It career program with Koinonia.
  • Saturday, Oct. 17 from 7-8:30 PM through our Facebook page
  • 8 Bingo games, each with a prize for the winner
  • One Bingo card for $10, three for $25 (A link to print bingo cards will be emailed to you)
  • 6 Raffle prizes - tickets sold separately (Winner need not be present to win)
  • You will soon be able to order your Bingo cards and Raffle tickets on our SILB website or Facebook page
  • The club is doing a private trial run on Bingo on Monday, Sept. 28 at 7PM. Send a message to Cyndie if you want to help us test it.
The Little Free Library has reopened at the Train Depot Park near the corner of Horseshoe Bar and Taylor Roads. We've posted recommendations on how to take COVID precautions. The club is encouraging reading by giving community members a place to drop off a book they've read and pick up a new book to read. Learn more at Loomis Soroptimist Opens Little Free Library.

Club Sewing 200 Days for Girls Kits

Our club met on Sept. 16 to continue working on completing 200 Days For Girls Sanitary kits. With the washable sanitary pads, girls don't miss school when they have their periods. Learn more about our club's support of Days for Girls in this blog post. We appreciated the presentation provided by Karen Wilkes, Team Leader for Rocklin Chapter, Days4Girls.
College Scholarships: If you know a woman going to college who is a single head of household, encourage her to apply for the Live Your Dream Award by Nov. 15. Find the "Loomis Basin" club when applying on the SIA website

Our club has ordered 27 cases of Ternero Olive Oil as a fundraiser. Members will be selling bottles for $20 each. Learn more on our website about the Olive Oil Fundraiser.

Club Helps with Senior LIFE Center Meal Delivery

On September 3, several club members helped deliver meals to Loomis Senior LIFE Center participants who could not pick up their own meals. The seniors were grateful to get the meals and the LIFE Center Board expressed its appreciation for the support. Our Soroptimist club founded the Loomis L.I.F.E. Center and has supported it since its inception. Next delivery dates are Oct. 15 and Nov. 18.
