A Message from The Catholic Crusade

The Church dedicates the month of December to the Immaculate Conception. We also enter into the liturgical season of Advent, a time of spiritual preparation for the first coming of the Lord, which we celebrate on the 25th (Christmas).

December is a month filled with powerful novenas, many of which surround the mystery of the Incarnation of Christ:
While this all may seem overwhelming, there's no need to stress. We will post the daily prayers for each novena on our YouTube Community tab and on our Facebook page as they happen.

December 2nd is First Friday. For anyone interested in participating in the
First Friday Devotion, we have recommended prayers here, along with additional information regarding this devotion.

The Prayer to the Holy Innocents is a prayer to the infants of Bethlehem, the very first Christian martyrs, who were slaughtered at the orders of King Herod, who was seeking to eliminate the Baby Jesus, who Herod saw as a threat to his kingship, as reported in Sacred Scripture:

"When Herod realized that he had been deceived by the magi, he became furious. He ordered the massacre of all the boys in Bethlehem and its vicinity two years old and under, in accordance with the time he had ascertained from the magi." (Matthew 2:16)

Prayer to Our Lady of Guadalupe for a special request or intention. In 1531, the Virgin Mary appeared to a St Juan Diego, a farmer, in Tepeyak (current day Mexico City) five times. Her apparitions led to the conversion of the people of the area. Today, Our Lady of Guadalupe is considered the patroness of the Americas. She is a prominent figure in Mexican culture and is highly respected especially among Mexican Catholics.
