Now is the Time to Save

If you haven't had an audit, this is a great time to do it as the cold is setting in.

If you've had the audit but haven't contracted to add insulation and other energy saving measures, contact the contractor who did your audit. Or contact us for advice at 413-279-9141 or ener-g-save@cooppower.coop. The unlimited discount on insulation is not guaranteed to continue in 2019 so contracting now will ensure you get the 75% discount on as much insulation as your home needs.

If you haven't scheduled the work on your home, why not do it now? You'll save on your bills, increase your comfort, and help reduce pollution during the cold months ahead.

Now is the Time to Save the Planet

Our scientists and government agencies are making increasingly dire predictions of the effects of climate change on our health, economy, and environment. Many local governments are taking the threat seriously and planning for resilience, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, and adding renewable energy. And even though the pace is still too slow, our electric grid is greening year by year.

While policy is necessary to minimize the effects of climate change, we can do our part in our own homes and save on our bills in the process. Energy efficiency and electrification are the two most important measures individual households can take.

ener-G-save tip for December: Light up the Dark with LEDs

A holiday tip from ener-G-save: Switch to LED lights. Outside or inside, LED string lights will shine brighter and last ten times longer than outdated incandescent lights. Worried about the bright white normally associated with LEDs? LED lights come in a variety of colors, including a “warm white” for that old-time holiday glow. LEDs are also safer than incandescent lights because they operate at much lower temperatures. They’re less expensive, too—using a LED lamp over the holidays will cost you an estimated $0.45, compared to $5 for mini incandescent string lights and $75 for large incandescent string lights!
