Hi <<First Name>>,

You're invited to a gathering on Wednesday, March 23rd to hear several short stories on how to shift our current culture of violence into a culture of peace.

Violence is on the rise in our city with Denver Metro receiving a national grade of “D” in overall safety and a “C-” for violent crimes. Chances are if you’re not directly affected, your neighborhood could be right next to those who are. (

As Christians what can we do to replace a culture of violence with a culture of peace?

Though this is a heavy topic, the good news is, a thriving Church Body can actually shift a violent culture to a Kingdom culture.

Please join in the conversation and connect, eat some food, worship, and pray for our city!

Doors will open at 6:30 pm for appetizers and fellowship.

Stories will begin at 7pm.

Music & Worship will be led by Confluence Music Group

The Presenters:

Jonathan McMillan is a mentor, community activist, and Youth Violence Prevention Director for the City & County of Denver. He leads a newly developed strategic plan to reduce and prevent community violence.

Ana Hernandez-Thallas is the creator of Bella Joy Gardens, a city park and tribute to those who have lost loved ones to violence, and a memorial to her daughter Isabella Joy Thallas whose life was tragically taken by gun violence in 2020. Ana is involved with the City Council and she lobbied to pass "The Isabella Joy Act". Most importantly Ana is a mother to Lucia Grace, majoring in Criminal Justice, 2022, and her youngest Jacob Marcos who attends Cherry Creek High School.

Glenn Garcia is the Lead Pastor of New Hope Ministries Central Denver & Coordinator of Safe Haven Denver. Safe Haven is a network of partners across the city that supports local faith communities in bringing healing to areas affected by violence & tragedy.

Hope to see you there!

Peace to you,
