JTB University’s first ConnectED 2021 session is a wrap, with over 80 students from across the country joining us! Surveys indicate that one of the things our students like most is the opportunity to hear personally from our network of volunteer judges, law clerks, attorneys and law students. Some of the topics covered: How to Succeed in Law School, Journey to the Judiciary, and the Life of a Lawyer. Cheng R. put it best, “I really enjoyed the panels. The variety of content was so vast that I learned so much about history, current events, legal areas, career paths, becoming a law student, becoming a judge, networking, and so many other professional skills.”
Students learned about social justice movements and worked in small groups on final projects that showcased what they learned. Timely topics included Voting Rights, Student Debt Crisis, and LGBTQI Rights. Students, like Mindy H., expressed that the group project was another favorite part of the program, “Working in groups on our project, we met new people from all parts of the country. Completing this project together allowed us to share diverse perspectives on our given movement.”
