Dear Avila Community,

It is so exciting to see our Ballygriffin construction project develop and evolve. Over the past couple of weeks the cladding has been installed, providing us all with a real sense of what our new facility will look like. While it is not clearly evident from Charles Street, there has also been a flurry of activity within the building structure. Classrooms are starting to take shape and the technological infrastructure is rapidly connecting with the installation of data points, fibre cabling, AV ports and underground services.

At the same time, our student Learning leaders, together with a team of teachers, have been investigating and analysing furniture and fittings options for the building. Drawing on the latest research, best practice and internal feedback, they have been carefully considering furniture options that offer both form and function to foster a truly contemporary learning and teaching environment.

It is rewarding to see so many elements of the project come together so visibly, and most importantly on schedule and within budget.

Happy Learning!

Family Week is a perfect time to come together to celebrate the power of family relationships in all their diversities, and the importance they play in our lives and community.
Over and over again we see that family bonds are essential for the stability of relationships in society, for the work of education, and for integral human development, for they are inspired by love, responsible intergenerational solidarity, and mutual trust. These are factors that can make even the most adverse situations more bearable and bring a spirit of trust fraternity to our world, enabling it to feel as a single family, where the greatest attention is paid to those most in need.”

Pope Francis (From his address to the United Nations, Clementine Hall, 2013)
