What is the Avila College School Advisory Council (ACSAC)?
Avila College, like all the Catholic parish and diocesan schools in the Melbourne Archdiocese, is now under the guidance of Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools Ltd (MACS). This change in governance commenced at the beginning of this year.
What does the ACSAC do?
One of the subsequent changes is that our current school board is now the Avila College School Advisory Council (ACSAC) and is under a new Terms of Reference (ToR). The ToR can be accessed on the Avila College College website.
The ACSAC advises the Principal on important matters and is a support to the Principal and Leadership of the school in our mission to be a continuously improving school. There are 6-8 meetings scheduled annually and these are either virtual and/or in person.
If you would like more information about MACS School Advisory Councils please refer to the following link: https://governance.melbourne/sac-faq/.
Who belongs to the ACSAC?
The current chair of the ACSAC is Mrs Jacqui Giuliano (parent and alumnae) and other members include Fr Ralph Besterwitch (Parish Priest of St Christopher's Syndal), current and past parents and Executive Team members.
