Avila Aced It!

Monday 10 March marked the first SCSA tennis competition for 2022. The Avila tennis team got to school at 6:45am to make their 2 hour journey to Geelong Lawn Tennis Club for the exciting day ahead.

The weather made a wonderful appearance and the girls started the day with amazing results, with Emma from the senior team starting off with a 6-0 win.

Throughout the day, the girls played extremely well, with wins from all teams, placing themselves in 1st for Juniors, 1st for Intermediate and Seniors 2nd halfway through the day. As the day progressed, Juniors, Intermediates and Seniors all made it to the semi final where they faced tough competition. All the girls played especially well with our junior single’s player Kartia winning 6-1.

Great teamwork was performed throughout the day, with doubles partners Avindri and Ava and Irene and Niamh all hitting beautiful shots. All teams proceeded to the Grand Final, where the Juniors and Intermediates’ skills shined resulting in 1st place and the talented Seniors finishing 2nd.

Congratulations and well done to all players of the Avila Tennis team. All the hard work paid off and everyone walked away with smiles on their faces.
