Summer Solstice in the Garden--Extended Hours!
Saturday June 22nd 9:00am - 7:30pm

Celebrate the peak of summer outdoors in the Botanical Garden with extended hours! Sunlight plays on the plants all day, drawing our attention in unique ways as the hours pass. Bring a picnic and enjoy family-friendly activities throughout the day.

9:00am Garden Gates Open
2 - 2:30pm Storytime for Kids [Nest Amphitheater]
3 - 4:30pm Arts & Crafts [La Kretz Garden Pavilion, All Ages, Join anytime]
5 - 6pm 1-Hour Guided Garden Tour [Starts at the La Kretz Garden Pavilion]
7:30pm Garden Gates Close

Admission to the Botanical Garden and activities are free for this event! No RSVP needed. Please consider making a donation to support educational programming on our website.

Congratulations Graduates!

We would like to acknowledge the work of many amazing students that give their time and energy to the garden. This year we would particularly like to celebrate Rachel Poutasse, who has earned her Master's in Library and Information Science and focused her thesis on the UCLA Herbarium library and collection. Thank you Rachel and good luck at your new position! 

Botanical Beer Garden
Saturday July 13th 5:30 - 7:30pm 

Hooray for Humulus lupulus, the mighty hop plant that is brewed into beer!

Blooms, Brews, & Live Music! Celebrate summer with extended garden hours and locally brewed Broxton beers + food options curated by California native Chef Kyle Brown. Grab a brew and a bite to explore the Botanical Garden or enjoy live music picnic style in the Nest Amphitheater.

All ages welcome • Garden admission is free all day • Pets welcome on leash • Cash or card accepted • ID required for alcohol purchases • Consider bringing your own cup to reduce waste • Evenings can get chilly--bring a blanket

Herbarium Volunteers

Are you interested in learning about plants and exploring our collection of dried, pressed specimens? Volunteer to support a National Science Foundation project by imaging and digitizing the UCLA Herbarium collection. Must have some computer experience. To learn more, contact Dr. Tom Huggins:
