SciFly NYC // 78 // Speculating Design & Futures

Weekly Events 5/27 - 6/2

Hey SciFly Readers!

This week I want to tell you about an awesome resource I just stumbled onto when browsing Twitter, a special issue of the Journal of Future Studies entitled "Design & Futures Volume: 1".

I have only read the introduction and one or two of the articles so far, but its an amazing collection of research and insight!

With this collection, the authors Stuart Candy, Carnegie Mellon University, and Cher Potter, University of the Arts London, said they hope to promote the entanglements in design and future studies, offering readers across both communities insight into how disparate perspectives and tools, in combination, can challenge, remix, and strengthen each other and open up further exchanges.

You can check out the entire issue here, and I've posted links to the articles/interviews below as well if you want to quick read something that strikes your fancy! All are available for free on the Journal of Future Studies website.

There is also a great Introduction from Stuart and Cher.

And... the best part is that there will be a Volume 2! Stay tuned and check their site for updates!
