The second covenant in this year’s Lenten readings is the one made with Abraham and Sarah: God’s promise to make them the ancestors of many, with whom God will remain in everlasting covenant. Paul says this promise comes to all who share Abraham’s faith in the God who brings life into being where there was no life. We receive this baptismal promise of resurrection life in faith. Sarah and Abraham receive new names as a sign of the covenant, and we too get new identities in baptism, as we put on Christ.
Today's readings and intercessions can be found here.

A question for you to ponder and share as we begin worship today.

There are many things in this pandemic we are looking forward to when it's all over (and especially gathering with family and friends). But is there anything in your life that's changed over these last months that you want to keep or not go back to afterwards?

Our annual meeting will take place following worship today. There will be a 10 minute break between the end of the service and the beginning of the meeting.

The annual report is available here.

Our next book study is Barbara Brown Taylor's Learning to Walk in the Dark.

We will begin later in March.

Offered by the Synod -- a Zoom Workshop for Lay Leaders: Personal Wellness and Faithful Service
March 11, 2021, 7 - 9 PM

Our church communities have had to adjust substantially, and many parishioners report increased levels of strain (e.g., stress/anxiety, fatigue, grief, and isolation/loneliness) and also at times limitations in their personal and spiritual resources that contribute to personal wellness which is essential for ongoing service to our churches. This 2-hour workshop and dialogue session will explore psychologically and spiritually relevant themes for lay leaders. Our intention is to provide helpful information and to offer suggestions for ongoing self-care in the midst of the pandemic.

Consider this a brief addendum to my Pastor's Annual Report for 2021.
Don & Elaine shared a second photo of their February marigold - a harbinger of changing seasons.  I'm happy to share your photos through CommUnity News -- so if you have something to share please send it in.
