Possunt qui posse videntur

Dear <<First Name>>,

Does anyone else feel as if Spring might not be too far away?

Perhaps it's a side effect of the Vaccy (I now speak fluent German - I wish) or perhaps the sun that came out this weekend or the daffodils that are poking their heads above the soil, but it does feel as if there might be a bit of Spring in the air. With news expected from our Dear Leader later today I wonder if things are beginning to look up - will the rumour of outdoor sports being opened up from March 29th become a reality, I wonder?

Bewl Bridge Rowing Club E-gatta/E-head or whatever

Another good showing of 67 entries from Weybridge RC at the Bewl Bridge virtual e-gatta this weekend - and great to see some WEY adults amongst the listed winners:
  • Paul Grey -  MasE
  • Holly and Jason Ross - MasC.Mx2x

And the juniors too:

  • Luella Davis - WJ15
  • Cullen Ross and Nick Didaskalou - J16.2x
  • Alex Didaskalou - J13 run
  • Nick Didaskalou - J16 run
  • Ruby, Archie, Tommy and Dan - J14.Mx4x

Noted a large number of improved times from the first such event in January, but regardless well done to everyone, and particularly to coaches Scott, Kostas and Matt for all the time they spent preparing crews over both events.

Also nice to see that Holly and Jason entered in a double - does this mean we will see Holly in a family household double on the water - when we're allowed to do so! J16s Nick and Cullen both achieved BR cut-off times and J15 Henry Hall was hot on their heels. Well done to Heather and a number of our newer lady members for having a go, too.

This event will have raised over £300 for Weybridge Food Bank, so thanks to everyone who took part.

Online events at Weybridge RC

Matt's Tuesday circuits at 18:30 (60-min). Seeing decent attendance at this slightly later time.

Kay's Wednesday Pilates at 19:30 (45-min). Kay's popular midweek event.

Kay's Saturday morning ergos (aided and abetted by Westminster school rowing coach Nick - you will learn stuff). I've dropped in on this session and Nick is an excellent coach; do take the opportunity to learn from him whilst we can. As soon as the schools go back he will have to return to duty. Of course you do need an ergo…

Ergos to rent

Talking of ergos, I have access to only two more Jubilee High School ergos. If you would like to rent one (until they need them back) contact me - pronto.

And finally...

For those of you who still have an office… A bus station is where a bus, stops. A train station is where a train, stops. In the office you have a work station… Think about it.

Remember… Hands, Face, Space

Kind regards,
Clive Capel
