At Staines Regatta, well done to the many junior crews for reaching their finals, with a rather tidy haul from our J13.2x, J14.2x and W.J13.4x+, as well as Scott and James winning the Op.2x
Many thanks to John & Caroline Turnbull, Anne, John (JRB), Graham Ca, Rachel, Theresa as the organising committee for tomorrow's Community Regatta, and to those who coached the 20 crews: Caroline, Cath, Greg, JRB, Matt A and Rachel.
Meanwhile! Thanks to Phil (Sumner) with Clive Ca for pulling the trailer for Staines Regatta; to Nick for his help with a local garage for fixing the trusty Landcruiser used to trailer for so many events; and again, thanks to Nick and Carl for keeping on top of repairs and refurbs at the 'small end' of the fleet.
Completing this survey is a chance for each of us to review this regatta season, as well as looking ahead to the head season. Not meant to be binding in any way, your responses will allow squad coordinators to make plans for what’s needed, be that in terms of coaching or boats.
Worth a read in its entirety, July's HRSA Safety Report is especially informative, highlighting recovery after a capsize, advice on using a defibrillator, and... "Would you know what to do?" Check out the LifeSaver app. Also, you'll read under 'Other Advice' someone asking why rowers do not use as standard "Starboard" and "Port" - join the conversation...
What do you think, is it about time we used "Starboard" and "Port" as standard, rather than "Bowside" and "Strokeside"? https://t.co/aNzm6mAGEm
