Let's be clear...

COMING SOON: Clearer signage around the Club all to help with social distancing and prevent transmission of this coronavirus - plus, these few (OK maybe twenty!) reminders

This issue serves to highlight the many ways in which some serve the Club - and all #fortheloveofrowing - so many, many thanks to...

  • Eric for repairing the main door to the clubhouse, and installing a second webcam for improved site security, and further still, for refitting the security light by the main entrance gate - apparently foxes have a penchant for these things;
  • Nick for upgrading our broadband service at a lower cost along with an upgraded router to ‘reboot’ our wifi network;
  • Clive Ca for bailing out coaching launch, Jon, ready for us being able to use it again; also for checking all three coaching launches will run OK, when needed;
  • Graham Ca, Paul T and Eric for undertaking the job of fixing and refitting our bay doors so that the doors hang and slide properly - and until then Hummingbird is inaccessible, so marked out of action;
  • Graham Ca for patching up some old damage on Jolly Roger and giving it some much welcomed TLC; also for patching up Allawey. Where provided, PLEASE use the mats - like how Lightweyt should be when racked;
  • Rachel for fixing the seat for Grace that had been left broken for several months, and to LisaMatt B and Rachel for helping me to re-rig 3 oft-used 2x (Our Wey, Other Wey Up, This Wey Up) also left unrigged since January, so now authorised, same-household crews can get back on the water;
  • Pete H for giving Turn the Other Csiki a good cleaning and some TLC;
  • Rachel for stocking us up with soap, sanitiser, cloths, buckets, disinfectant and other supplies to help us all #CleanWhateverYouTouch, and for washing the dirty cloths, twice already;
  • Geoff D and Jacqui for cleaning those green cleaning cloths - Who's next?!
  • Lukasz for emptying what were overflowing bins #WEYHateOverflowingBins!
  • And again, Rachel (and anyone who has shopped and continues to shop via easyfundraising) in helping to get SUP Rowing off the ground - or on the water! More on this and the story behind this new WEY to row below...

As much as these times are challenging for everyone, they have also presented us with some great opportunities for getting back on the water - and this is something we want for everyone.

Since reopening a month ago on May 15th, and as part of our phased reopening, it has been great to see many Seniors/Masters back on the water, and within these last couple weeks, both our J15 boys and girls.

Now with plans coming to fruition, we are able to welcome back also all junior squads, from next week, June 15th. This is, in part, made possible thanks to the Club Committee approving these two new additions to our fleet...
