SCROLL & READ. READ & SCROLL
to see all that's in this week's issue

A Fleet-wide Audit is well underway...

...with thanks to Terrie, Graham Ca, Nick C, Rachel, Kay and Anne

Including but not limited to:
ordering and fitting parts for Another Wey and Weyward; repairing riggers on One Wey and Always Another Wey most urgently; getting Jon's reverse gear fixed; repairing Lightweyt's hull following a mid-race, log-inflicted puncture ; affixing magnetic tool strips for all those... erm, tools, which seem to have gone
walkies! Please help find them - thank you!
Who left all those blades on the bank!?
Blade painting party to come!

Pop Quiz:
Which spoon is the 'Smoothie'?
  1. Of course, via the WEYHey! app (under the #justonemorething banner)
  2. By bookmarking this direct link: bit.ly/WEYBoatRepairs
  3. With your smartphone's camera, use the QR code on the 'WEY To Boat' board in the boathouse
  4. By following the link provided at bit.ly/WEYToBookBoats (top left-hand corner)
  5. By emailing fleet@weybridgerowing.org.uk - being sure to include the same details asked for in this form and any photos, if it helps describe the issue better
  6. Using the new boat audit / pre-boating checklist, which is really nothing new or beyond what you do already before boating... right?!

These sheets with clipboards are available to the left of the ‘WEY To Boat’ board. Anything already noted on this whiteboard is now transferred to the main log - where you can check for progress updates - to be reviewed along with everything else, as part of the fleet-wide audit over the next few weeks.

WEY To Be Safe!

Following a recent incident involving one of our Masters rowers, it is strongly advised for at least one member of a Masters crew to carry their mobile phone in the boat, in a waterproof case. The RNLI donated to us a few universal phone pouches with lanyard - which can be found hanging by the cox-boxes - or buy your own.

Also recommended are these Lifeproof phone cases

Growing Pains

Want to find out more about the impact of screens and sport on the growing bodies of our children?
We'll discuss the symptoms children most frequently present with in our Practice, and give you information and useful tips on how to support and encourage them to look after their bodies.

A few questions we'll answer:
  • When to find help for their 'growing pains', what can be done for hypermobility, should playing sport be moderated when they are complaining of aches and pains?
  • And of course, the impact of screen time on our children's bodies - we all know how our own bodies feel after hours of working on tablets and computers! - and how to prevent future problems.
We will discuss easy, simple things you can do as a parent, to help your child keep fit and pain free. If there is anything in particular you would like us to talk about, feel free to send an email to adele@weybridgephysio.co.uk - we will try to cover it and will keep it anonymous.
