Sunburn is not a good look, nor a risk worth taking

Beware: our English sun is deceptive, the effects of which are amplified on the water and at speed or when the wind picks - whichever happens first! Coming prepared, come what may includes having high-factor sunscreen - one suited to rowing, both, in terms of being on the water and maybe putting on a sweat.
In the interest of NOT starting a rota just for it to fall out of use, we, the Committee, are kicking off this #justonemorething campaign - in the interests of all members, asking all members to do one little thing here and one little thing there.

From laundering club hi-viz bibs or plugging in cox-boxes properly to properly showing your pre-boating risk assessment (and that you're back!) or taking away the rubbish, let's all do our bit after each outing to keep everything in good order, but also to save the same people from always picking up the rubbish, quite literally...
This is this week's #justonemorething...
See a full sack? Please take it home

#1 Take it with you!

Rather than leaving disposable (even reusable!) plastic bottles lying around club grounds, please dispose of your's in the bin provided, or better yet, take plastics home for reuse and recycling. Without the benefit of waste collection services to the island, we ask that when you see a full bin to empty it or a bin sack awaiting 'collection' to take it away to dispose of with your domestic waste - many thanks. And thank you to those like Carl Boon and Nancy Lee Wragg who pick up these sorts of jobs without thinking twice - but now... your turn!
Many thanks... to Kay Eggleton for giving up her time so regularly for a Monday Pilates class with the juniors; to Anatole Beams who so readily and speedily produces our boat decals, including the new (to us) workboat; to Lisa King for organising a bumper order for the new-design Club blazer; to Geoff Thomas for effecting such as effective repair to several sets of blades - see one example below of a 'before' and 'after'; to Graham Campbell for lovingly repairing the much-loved Another Wey - please take good care of her! And to Nick Coxhead (a belated Happy Birthday - you kept that quiet!), Rachel Kornberg, Tom Meade and Anne Morris for their regular coaching contribution to Jubilee High and Reeds schools, giving them their first crack at regatta racing.

WEY have a few winners!

Well done to Henry and Oscar, representing Jubilee High School in the J14.2x event at Sunday's Ball Cup Regatta, their school's first regatta

And to Rachel Kornberg and Jayne Brady, a well done also for their win in the W.MasD/E.2- having ventured to waters anew at Shrewsbury Regatta
