Dear <<First Name>>,

This Sunday: Boat naming

One of our new Kanghua quad/fours is to be named Leif in honour and recognition of our late President Leif Mills CBE who passed away last year. The ceremony will take place at 12:00 just before the 200 Club meeting this Sunday, September 5th. Launching her (him/it?) will be Leif's daughter, Susannah, who has generously donated a substantial sum towards the purchase of the boat.

I am hoping, covid-permitting, to have a crew of Junior members go out with Leif's granddaughter to mark the boat's official launch into service.

Members of the club are welcome to attend, but please note that any snacks and/or booze that you happen to see lying about are for members of the 200 club only — Greg will have a fit if general members dive in! Also there is expected to be a 'fair number' of 200 Club members on site and physical distancing will be difficult to maintain. If you do come, please exercise responsibility!

This Saturday: Weybridge Community Fayre

A reminder of the Weybridge community Fayre on Churchields Recreation Ground this Saturday, the 4th, from 12 noon to 4pm. Please do go along to support our stand, the fayre and WEY member Judy Sarsby who is a co-organiser.

In a few weeks: Annual General Meeting

I believe this year's AGM is slated for September 30th — still to be confirmed, but keep the date regardless.

Me: on holiday

I'm still on holiday, but seem to have been working on WEY business every day regardless. Have laptop—will work. Bah!

See you on Saturday.
