The Better-late-than-never edition of

Hello <<First Name>>,
With my sincere apolgies for the delay, the weekend is shaping up, as below -
but first our condolences...

David Hudson (in stroke, shown below), a Weybridge RC oarsman since the 1970s, passed away at home on Sunday 9th December aged 74. Dave also competed for Tideway Scullers School and Thames Valley Skiff Club. His wide range of crewmates and friends will remember him as a talented and tenacious competitor. Dave last rowed in our Masters H VIII a fortnight ago, in a early morning session described as "one of our best outings".

We send our condolences to his wife Yvonne. And to Bart, Jane & Theo who are pictured here setting-out for a rare family paddle with Dave in July 2018.

With thanks to Clive for organising, you will receive a separate email from him, detailing crews for tomorrow's Christmas Pudding Races, starting from around 09:30. If you are heading out before for a training session, please be back by 09:00.

There's much-to-do about the Club

With this Sunday being opportune for a long overdue Boathouse & Grounds Clearing Work-party, we can expect to knock off a load of jobs from our 'jobs board' and then some... Allocations will be made later today (Friday), so please check back tomorrow (Saturday) for details.

For anyone keen to squeeze in an early session, please organise your own crews but be back by 09:30, for us to make a full and proper start at 10:00. If you signed up for the afternoon, do not worry, we will have a job for you too! And if you did not get the chance to sign up, feel free to turn up anyway; there will be no shortage of jobs to do and in fact, much has gone before...

...with many thanks to Lisa King, our new Facilities Manager, for coordinating a number of jobs, and some already done with thanks to:

  • Lisa, Steve W and Hatty for installing bike hooks in the Men's, then tidying up and moving the bikes accordingly
  • Steve W and Graham Ca for working up a solid shed base, for the new outdoor shed to be constructed in the coming weeks
  • Lisa with Graham Ca for putting together the new shelving unit on the balcony, for Lisa with Matt B and Steve W to then move all our weights/strength and conditioning equipment in place - watch this 34 sec video to see how everything is to be stored and left after every use - thanks.

Meanwhile...!

Our further thanks goes to Graham Ca and Nick for carrying out recently some hull repairs to Quickest Wey To... - the red Filippi's proper name - and for making good Wey To Go's deck, waterbreaker, seats and seat carriages.
