Thank you to the INCREDIBLE amount of people who voted for the 2021 Reader’s Choice Awards. We had several categories that were within just a handful of votes from each other! Some categories we counted two and three times to make sure votes were as accurate as possible. I am blown away by the support in this year’s survey!
Reader’s Choice Award winners will be contacted over the next week to receive the 2021 Reader’s Choice logo featuring their name and will be offered special advertising rates for the remainder of 2021 with The Southern Scoop News. All winners will also be listed on www.TheSouthernScoopNews.Com for the entire year.
You may notice the 2021 winner for the Community Member of the Year award is missing from this list. Last year, our inaugural year, Tom Ritter was named Community Member of the Year. Mr. Ritter, who lived a life of service, passed away this year after a long battle with cancer. We have spoken to his family and to honor his memory, we are officially renaming the community member of the year award to be the Tom Ritter Community Member of the Year Award. We received so many great nominations for this category and are excited to announce the winner but will be doing so in a full article and profile to do both this year’s winner and Mr. Ritter justice.
Also missing from this list, is Best Nurse, however, we would like to congratulate Stephanie Morgan for being voted the 2021 Reader's Choice Award Winner for Best Nurse! Stephanie is an outstanding nurse, member of the Macon County Community, and an overall special human being!
