3 Spring Tips to Keep Your Dog Safe and Healthy This Year

In the home. While doing spring cleaning stick to eco-friendly products—many cleaning products are irritating or even toxic to dogs. Use vinegar, baking soda or enzyme-based solutions. Read more cleaning tips here.

In the yard. Avoid slug and snail baits, chemical fertilizers and pesticides. They can be toxic when ingested. Be careful with even organic ones like blood and bone meal. Stay clear of cocoa- bean mulch too..

Out and about. Start a spring exercise regime slowly before engaging in strenuous physical activity. In many regions foxtails—wild grass awns—can be a scourge, be sure to do a full body scan, especially paws, eyes, ears, and most other orifices after jaunts. Minimize conflicts with wildlife and their newborn bird nestlings, rabbit and skunk kits, fawns etc., and your dogs.
