Client Spotlight: Kristi & Rossi

One of our favorite parts of working to provide canine services and trained dogs to the community is the flood of thank-you emails that we receive on a weekly basis. We love to hear from people with whom we have had a positive affect on their lives. Just recently, one very special email stood out to us, and we just had to reach out to them for a follow-up! Get to know Kristi Knight, an ASU Doctoral student who struggled with the transition to the big city of Phoenix. Read how aquiring a protection dog in the form of Hillside's Rossi has changed her life!  [Read More]

University of Michigan Study Reveals that
Dog Owners Shape the Personality of their Pets
Ever thought a dog and its owner looked alike? Apparently, that goes for their personalities, too. Michigan State University researchers looked into canine personality traits and found they share many characteristics with their humans.

Shamrock Danger

The Shamrock, Sorrel or Oxalis plant has a very bitter taste, which often deters dogs and cats from co nsuming large quantities. However, when ingested in large enough quantities in small animals, it can result in poisoning in dogs, cats, and even humans.

Common signs to watch for:
Drooling  |  Inappetance  |  Vomiting  |  Diarrhea
Lethargy  |  Weakness  |  Tremors
Bloody urine  |  Changes in thirst and urination

in-kennel training or private lesson programs?

Join us Saturday mornings of March 16th and 30th at 9am
for our by-donation group classes!

These classes are designed to continue lessons learned in our clients' private training lessons or in-kennel training programs. Practicing skills and commands in a group setting under the supervision of a professional trainer is the best way to reaffirm good behaviors and refresh your dog's memory! Because we are familiar with the strengths, temperaments, and challenge areas of our clients,  group class participants will benefit from customized activities and an at-home training regime consultation.
