On 16th May 2018, CBS Kilkenny celebrated its annual Blessed Edmund Rice Awards Night, with Miriam O'Callaghan and Bishop Dermot Farrell as invited guests. Miriam warmly congratulated the award recipients, their families and the whole school community. Her advice to students was threefold: be kind, work hard and enjoy life. Special Congratulations to Joe Sheehan who won the prestigious McFadden Medal.
We congratulate all of our recipients and we wish them well on their continued journey through life.
In April 2018, Kilkenny Education Centre celebrated its twentieth anniversary. As part of this celebration, KEC in affiliation with Poetry Ireland organised poetry competitions aimed at students of both primary and post-primary schools across the South-East. The response was enormous.

We are delighted to confirm that two CBS Kilkenny students, Andrew Stone and Sam Cullen, were announced as Award Winners in the senior Fifth and Sixth Year category.
On Monday 14 May 2018, CBS Kilkenny held its annual Transition Year Awards Ceremony - a night which celebrates the breadth and depth of talent, skills and leadership which is evident in our TY year group. There on the evening to congratulate the boys was Mr Michael Doyle, Lord Mayor of Kilkenny. Sincere thanks to TY Coordinator Mr Morrissey for his year's work with the class of 2018. Well done to Conor McCarthy on being awarded the Spirit of TY Award, well deserved!
Congratulations to our Francis MacManus Short Story competition winners, Brian O'Hanrahan (senior section) and Ryan MacDonald (junior section). Enjoy their stories by clicking on the links below.
