‪CROSS COUNTRY Leinster Champion
Huge Congrats to Billy In First Year who won Gold in under 14 Cross Country in February, beating off competition from all of Leinster. ‬‪Wonderful achievement. Well done Billy.
TY TRIP TO BAVARIA
The annual trip to Bavaria took place over the mid-term break. Our TY students thoroughly enjoyed a packed itinerary around Munich and beyond. Many thanks to all of the staff who traveled with the group and made it a very memorable experience for our students.

DANCING WITH THE STARS
Well done to former student John Edward Nolan and his celebrity partner Mairead Ronan on their continued success in the hugely popular Dancing with the Stars #alltheway
SENIOR HURLING
Hard luck to our senior hurlers who were defeated in the Leinster semifinal in Bunclody after a hard fight in inclement weather and tough conditions for hurling. Thanks to all of our great players and their fantastic mentors for a great season.
SAVE THE DATE!
Friday, May 24th at 8pm. A great night at the dogs awaits! CBS Kilkenny Parent Council are organising another brilliant fundraiser for the new school!
GOOGLE HQ VISIT
Four of our TY students, our School Digital Champions, thoroughly enjoyed their visit to Google HQ in Dublin. It was a fascinating day for Cathal, Eamonn, Philip and Chase. Many thanks to Ms Lennon for her mentoring and guidance.

MOCK EXAMINATIONS
Well done to our Third and Sixth Year students who completed their Mock Examinations before the mid-term break. We hope you are recharged now, and we wish you every success with the next few months of preparation and hard work.
WORLD CANCER DAY
As part of World Cancer Day on Feb 4th 2019, our award winning senior choir joined with choirs from all over the world to remember members of our school community who are or have been affected by cancer.

‪EDMUND RICE EDUCATION BEYOND BORDERS (EREBB)
EREBB is an international network of Catholic schools which educate young people from many different faiths and cultures. In more than twenty countries EREBB endeavours to promote global solidarity and to offer a transformational education for justice and liberation. In February, ERST Ireland hosted a very engaging, enlightening and stimulating EREBB gathering in Dublin, and CBS Kilkenny was delighted to be part of it.

Since then, our TY students have been preparing for International Earth Hour 2019, contacting local businesses asking them to take part on March 30th, spreading the message of the importance of Eco-Justice. Our ERI ambassadors also enjoyed a very engaging discussion in Dáil Eireann on Save the Seas, where they met Minister David Stanton and Senator Grace O’Sullivan.

CONCERN DEBATING
The nationwide Concern Debates league phase is now complete, and we are delighted to be in the top 5 from 140 schools. The boys have worked extremely hard and are looking forward to the next phase. Well done to the team and to their mentors, Mr O'Brien and Ms Maher.

NEW SCHOOL DEVELOPMENT
Our plans for the new school for CBS Kilkenny are well advanced. A number of fundraisers are in the pipeline and many thanks for your ongoing extremely generous support.

You can follow our progress and support the different fundraisers through our dedicated website, www.cbskilkennydevelopment.com. Sincere thanks to Anna Walsh for her outstanding website and IT development work.
