TY Bavarian Tour
This month saw the annual TY Educational Tour of Bavaria. Under the guidance of Deputy Principal Ann Walsh, 77 students and 7 staff visited Wurzburg, Nuremberg, Munich and Garmisch-Partenkirchen in the German Alps. Amazing locations were explored such as The Nazi Party rallying grounds, The Palace of Justice (site of the Nuremberg War Trials) and Dachau Concentration Camp. The highlight however was a private tour of The Fuhrerbau (Location of the infamous 1938 Munich Conference) thanks to our friend Dr. Alexander Krause, Chancellor of The University of Munich Music School, which now occupies the building. A huge thank you to all involved, especially our former principal Mr. Dermot Curran for once more offering his tour guidance expertise this year. We're sure it was an experience our students will never forget.

Huge congratulations to Billy who won the All Ireland Intermediate Colleges 40x20 Handball Final this month, beating Colaiste Mhuire, Ballymote Sligo. We are very proud of you.

All Junior Cycle students completed their CPR 4 SCHOOLS training this month. A huge thank you to Ms Sinnott, Ms Kavanagh, Ms Colleton and Ms Kelly for their expertise and to the Student Council and the TY Build a Bank team for their help in organising. It's great to see students showing such leadership and acquiring the practical skills for life. Well done to you all.
Congratulations to Billy who finished 3rd in The Leinster Schools Cross Country Competition in Santry this month. This was an impressive achievement against what was a very strong field. Well done Billy, we are very proud of you.
Our TY students managed to find some good weather this month- an achievement in itself -  to begin work on our school garden. We are all looking forward to seeing the results in vivid colour in future newsletters!
‪We'd great excitement this month when Kilkenny hurling star Aidan 'Taggy' Fogarty and his dancing partner Emily Barker visited to drum up support. Following on from our own past pupil John Edward Nolan's victory last year, we're sure with CBS Kilkenny support they'll go all the way in this year's competition. We wish them both the very best of luck.
CBS Kilkenny U-11 Hurling Blitz
The annual CBS Kilkenny U-11 Hurling Blitz is only a matter of weeks away and Mr McCormack and our TY Technology students have been busy this month producing the CBS Kilkenny Skills Development Board to mark the occasion. These unique commemorative trophies were developed from concept, through design stage and on to production by the group and will no doubt be much sought after on the day. Well done to you all.
