Join us for Tea!

Basketball success for first and second years
Coming up - annual hurling blitz
Cathal is Best Actor

Hard luck to former CBS student John Nolan and his dancing partner, comedienne Deirdre O'Kane, who were narrowly beaten in the final of Dancing with the Stars last week. What a terrific eight weeks of entertainment you gave us. Thanks for all the hard work. It was a brilliant achievement (and ye were robbed!)‬

With just four weeks to go to the American Tea Party social night on Thursday 26 April, and with many tables already gone, please make sure you book your table soon! There will be a great raffle on the night, entertainment and spot prizes – and all funds raised go towards the development of our new school campus.
There is also limited table space available for those who may not wish to host a table, so don’t delay, and contact Claire at 086-8203534 or Vivienne at 087-2801689

Our First Year team are overall winners of the South East, beating Rockwell College in the final by 3 pts.
Meanwhile, the 2nd Year team won silver and now go through to the preliminary round of the All-Ireland playoffs after Easter.‬
‪Very well done to all the boys and their mentors. ‬

We are very excited to have such great interest in the upcoming reunion of students who started CBS in 1974-5 or who joined that year group later. This will be held in Kilkenny on Saturday April 14 2018. A lot of great work has been done by the organising committee, David Dore, Roderick Whearty, Ned Phelan and Aidan Fitzpatrick. It promises to be a great evening of catchup and reconnecting. Contact the committee at

Things are really heating up for the annual CBSKilkenny U11 Hurling Blitz coming up on April 21st 2018. The programmes have gone to print! We look forward to an exciting day of action from all of our young participants.
Hearty congratulations to our TY students involved in the CBS Kilkenny team who won Best Newcomer Award at the AIB Build a Bank competition. The programme challenges the teams to actually build a bank, offering students in Transition Year a great opportunity to showcase their creativity, innovation and entrepreneurship.
Another accolade for the TY drama group who competed in St Andrew's College, Dublin Drama Festival last week. They got a very good adjudication and Cathal won the Best Actor Award. Great work from all nine boys involved. Thanks to Ms Meaney for all the hard work. ‬
