Happy fourth quarter, Los Altos! This quarter, we’ll be springing into hybrid learning and students will be taking AP tests at home. To help with your SAT prep, read this week’s column about pronouns. Not to mention the senior class council is developing graduation plans, so get excited, seniors! And while it’s not quite St. Patrick’s day anymore, teens across the Bay Area urge you to go green to save the environment. Have a groovy time with these totally tubular reads and we’ll see you in two weeks!

MVLA District releases finalized hybrid return agreement

The Mountain View–Los Altos School District and the District Teachers’ Association released the terms and conditions for the District’s planned return to in-person instruction on Friday, March 26, a few weeks later than planned. The agreement includes new changes to the hybrid model previously announced and finalizes all hybrid plans. MVLA aims to maintain public health regulations, student wellbeing, a safe physical environment, continuity for the 2020–2021 school year and equitable learning access for all students. LAHS releases AP testing schedule for the 2020–2021 school year

On Friday, March 19, LAHS released its Advanced Placement (AP) testing schedule for the 2020–2021 school year, choosing to go fully remote. Testing dates will range from Tuesday, May 18, to Thursday, June 10. The remote tests will be full length and cover the same amount of content as their in-person counterparts. Graduation events discussed at Senior Class Council meeting

As the senior class approaches the end of their high school careers, the celebration season is just beginning. On Thursday, March 18, the Senior Class Council hosted a meeting to introduce the upcoming end-of-year graduation event options. While many traditions will have to adapt to coronavirus precautions, the senior class plans to commemorate the end of their time at LAHS with a prom replacement, possible graduation ceremonies and other festivities. To be perfectly honest, I thought pronouns were the easiest part of learning English grammar. Why get preoccupied by she, he and they when semicolons exist? But, of course, I’m wrong.
