Seeking Justice for Slain Philadelphia Community Activist

The Philadelphia Inquirer recently featured a story detailing Stampone O’Brien Dilsheimer Law’s efforts to seek justice for the family of local activist Gerry Grandzol who was murdered in September 2017 outside his home in front of his daughter in Philadelphia’s Fairmount neighborhood. Firm partner Kevin O’Brien uncovered documents in a lawsuit proving the shooter was supposed to be detained at a juvenile detention center but escaped just 2 months before as a result of the gross negligence of the center’s guards.

Community Outreach:

The Superhero Project 2020

Stampone O’Brien Dilsheimer Law is a proud sponsor of The Superhero Project, a non-profit organization raising money to help families with babies in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. The organization was founded and operated by Kelly Gallagher, a longtime friend of the firm.

“As the grandfather of two boys who were born premature, I understand the fear, stress, and worry associated with having a loved one in the NICU,” said Joe Stampone, a Superhero Project board member. “I could not be more proud of Kelly and her team who have worked tirelessly to provide financial and emotional support to countless families in the Philadelphia area and beyond.”

Client Testimonial

"Back in 2010 I lost my daughter to childbirth and Joseph Stampone was the first call I made from the hospital, as I wanted answers to how something like this could happen in this day and age. Mr. Stampone and his team were by my side every step of the way finding me answers to all of my questions and reaching a settlement to assure my newly born grandson of some financial security for his future. Very caring and professional organization, which I have the utmost respect for."

$1.225 Million Dollar Settlement in Fraternity Death Case

Our firm represented the estate of a 20-year-old Certified Nursing Assistant who passed away after being served alcohol while visibly intoxicated at a local college fraternity party. The fraternity vehemently denied ever hosting the event.

Through extensive litigation with testimony from various experts including a toxicologist, our litigation team led by Kevin O’Brien and Andrea Sasso proved the decedent was highly intoxicated at the time of consuming alcohol at the party.
