  1.  SFUSD Emails for ExCEL Partners SY 2021-22
The current SFUSD emails for non-SFUSD staff will expire on June 30th, 2022. ExCEL is working with the Department of Technology to have emails approved for SY 22-23. However, we wanted to give you the heads up that we might not be able to activate SFUSD email address on July 1st, 2022 and we are asking you to plan ahead. If this is going to affect the way you deliver Summer Program, please send an email to Lucy Hong at and Karina Henriquez at by Apr 22, 2022 with the following information by CBO:
  • CBO Name + school sites
  • Number of employees this would affect
  • If the employees currently  have an active SFUSD email, please list their name, SFUSD email address and school site here on this spreadsheet
  • A brief description on how not having SFUSD emails access this Summer, will make it difficult for staff to provide Summer Programming.
       2. SFUSD Enrollment Guide:
Please update your program contact information in EMS by Friday, April 29, 2022.
This information will be used in the SFUSD Enrollment Guide for FY 23-24. If you have concerns with using this information for FY 23-24, please contact Lucy Hong at

SFUSD Application for Summer Meals
Dear Summer Program Managers & Coordinators and SF Community Members,

Hope you all are well! You’re receiving this email because it is time to apply for the Summer Meals at SFUSD and either you’ve previously taken part in the Summer Meals Program at SFUSD or you may be operating a program this summer at SFUSD. If you are no longer leading or intending to lead the summer meals program, please share this information with the appropriate person so that there is no delay in completing the application.

Student Nutrition Services (SNS) is proud to offer summer meals to your students this summer. The summer meals program serves healthy meals to youth 18 years and younger and to individuals older than 18 with disabilities during the summer months. The goal of this program is to alleviate hunger for vulnerable youth when school is not in session. This year, SNS intends to serve breakfast and lunch to summer programs.

Throughout the pandemic, the school meal program has operated under a number of waivers, which provide a variety of program flexibilities. At this time, these waivers and flexibilities are set to expire on June 1, 2022 and do not continue for the summer. We are still waiting for direction from the California Department of Education on how this will impact Summer School operations. As soon as we receive this information we will share in a follow up email.

To receive meals at your program this summer, please complete this application by COB April 15, 2022.
SNS cannot guarantee meal service on the first day of summer programming if your program completes the application after the deadline. Please complete one application per program. We recognize that you may not have all of the information finalized yet that is asked in the application. Please complete the application to the best of your ability at this time and information can be updated as it becomes available.

Please note that your programs menu (hot or cold food), staffing, and service model will be dependent on site specific details such as enrollment, infrastructure, and more. Once an application is received for your site, SNS will follow up individually with more detailed information, program expectations, next steps including scheduling training, confirming your service time, location, and if your site will be staffed with an SNS Dining Staff member.

Please let us know if you have any questions and thank you for supporting San Francisco's youth through summer meals!
Please contact Hannah Smith ( with questions or concerns.
