The Terroir Symposium held on May 23rd, 2018 in Toronto, ON was a chance for industry to gain practical knowledge, grow their professional network and glean inspiration from the community powered by the economics of local.  Kent Thompson, Director of Finance and Food Tourism, joined the panel discussion " A Recipe for a Delicious Destination" to talk about what motivates food travellers to Canada's Food Island and the Fall Flavours Festival. 
Bryan Inglis, CEO of Food Island Partnership, will be joining Food & Beverage Atlantic at their first Road Show Breakfast on May 16th. Signs point to another strong lobster season

With international sales growing and indications that lobster stocks are healthy, the Lobster Fishers of P.E.I. Marketing Board is expecting another good season. "Every plane that's possible to fill, leaving Halifax with lobster on it, is full," said board chair Charlie McGeoghegan. The CETA trade deal with Europe is already having an impact, said McGeoghegan, with sales up 25 per cent. Live sales to China are up 16 per cent, and frozen sales are up 27 per cent.
