Dear PETES Families:

I hope you had a fantastic weekend and that all the dads had a great Father’s Day!

We had a group of parents and students brave the chilly weather on Saturday morning and played a fun game of soccer at the school. Thanks for coming out everyone.

Today was the perfect weather for class trips to Parc Moussette. Several classes enjoyed a wonderful day of play at the park and beach. Mr. Guinnane also took Ms. Raymond’s grade five classon a bicycle excursion to Lac Leamy.

Tomorrow is Canada’s National Indigenous Day, and we will be celebrating at the school. We will have traditional music, dancing, and Indigenous story telling. We were hoping to have the celebration on the front lawn and invite parents; however, the forecast of persistent rain tomorrow will result in us moving indoors. Since we are moving indoors, we will not be able to extend an invitation to all parents and the wider community. However, we would like to invite our indigenous community to the celebration. We must be mindful of the total number of people in the gym for obvious safety reasons. The Indigenous celebration with begin at 9:15 with an opening prayer from the elder and will end at noon.

On Wednesday, we will be celebrating our grade six graduation ceremony. The forecast is for the slightest of rain at some point, so we will most likely be keeping our ceremonies outdoors. However, we will confirm with parents on Tuesday night or early Wednesday morning whether we will be outdoors or indoors.

J’espère que vous passerez une merveilleuse soirée

David & Jo-Anne
