Monthly Update:

Hi <<First Name>>,

Thanks for being part of our newsletter community! Below is a short summary of what we accomplished together in January, 2020.
Monthly Highlight: A Trip to Senegal!
As many of you know, The Kesho Fund has recently been exploring the use of free educational comic books to promote readership, language learning, and discussion of challenging topics such as bullying and gender equity in our classes and clubs here in Tanzania.

In January, 2020, we were thrilled to recieve a special invitation from the US Embassy in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania to attend a pan-African teachers conference in Dakar, Senegal to speak with others about our work in using (and producing) educational comic books!
This wonderful event was sponsored by the English Language Programs at the US State Department's Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs. The inclusion of our Outreach Coordinator Oliver Kimathi and our Projects Coordinator Petro Okoth (pictured together above) brought both some wonderful exposure for our work and a fun opportunity for Petro and Oliver to share the The Kesho Fund's accomplishments with highly motivated educators working all across the continent. The total cost to the Kesho Fund was about $35 in photocopying fees, and we have already heard back from teachers in both Kenya and Uganda about our free comics going to use there.

Comic books we've produced and comic books we've received permission to repost are all available for free downloading at: www.keshofund.org/library.

Thanks for all of your support in helping us produce these wonderful resources!

Seeing others appreciate these books for use in their communities reminded us just how lucky we are to have you all as individuals in our community.

Thanks for a Great Month!

We couldn't do it with out all of your help. As we continue to pursue fruitful partnerships, broaden our horizons, and expand our impact, we remember that we couldn't do any of it without you all supporting us at home.

Tunashukuru sana (deeply grateful),
