Monthly Update: June, 2020

Hi <<First Name>>, After a slow spring season in response to Covid-19 concerns, our schools are beginning to reopen, and our projects are getting back into gear! Read below for more details on what we were up to in June, 2020.

Monthly Highlight
After the successful completion of our boys bathroom and girls bathroom at Ibungilo Secondary School earlier this year, we are turning our attention next to the nearby school of Mihama Secondary, where 270 girls share 6 toilets and 259 boys share 3 toilets. Inadequate sanitary facilities can lead to truancy, absenteeism, illness, and the spread of germs and infections such as UTI.

On the bright side, this problem is very easy to change!

The Kesho Fund is committed to building a new bathroom for boys and a new bathroom for girls at Mihama, complete with hand washing sinks for everyone and a clean, dedicated room for feminine hygiene in the girls' building. We are anticipating a total project budget of about $12,000 and a total fundraising and construction period of 8-12 months. Stay tuned for more project details!
