Monthly Update: July, 2020

Hi <<First Name>>,

July was a big month for us here in Mwanza! Now that schools have reopened, we've kicked our regular projects back into gear as well as revamped how several of them are executed. Read below for more details on how we are continuing to learn from our community and improve the ways we serve it!

Monthly Highlight
Last month was our biggest month ever for the Textbooks to Mwanza Schools project! After redesigning the way that we solicit and process books lists from schools, we were able to donate $500 worth of new textbooks each to Nyamanoro Secondary School, Mwinuko Secondary School, and Kabuhoro Secondary School. This is our first time visiting more than 1 school per month.

To date, this project has seen 1,679 new books go to 12 undersupplied secondary schools in our community. Since the schools submit lists of the books they need most, and our Project Leaders compare prices at various distributors each time, we ensure that the money spent goes as far as possible.

As our donor community continues to grow, and our beneficiary community becomes increasingly aware of our efforts and supportive of our methods, we hope that this big month for our Textbooks Project is a sign of great things to come. Scaling up our processes takes reflection, discussion, and constant feedback from our community to make sure that our resources, needs, and expectations are all in-sync with one another's, but the rewards are great. In August, we hope to scale up another one of our projects and will report the details of how it goes in the newsletter. Stay tuned for more details
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for empowering our educators and change-makers to continue doing what they do!
