Holiday Greetings!
A few updates and reminders as we welcome 2021...

Regional Training Office (RTO) Update

Sara Pappa is now a Master Trainer for SAIL! This is exciting news as we are planning to offer SAIL leader trainings in 2021. Stay tuned for announcements about these trainings...they will be offered as soon as we are able to within CDC recommendations and guidelines for in-person gatherings.

As you may or may not know, the A Matter of Balance (AMOB) program has been translated to a virtual option. Our AMOB Master Trainers will be participating in the training for this in early 2021. As soon as we are able, we will offer the revised training to current AMOB coaches in our area. We will keep you posted.


There is an online SAIL Leader Training program offered through Pierce College. Here is a link with more information: https://www.pierce.ctc.edu/sail

2021 Alliance Meetings: All are welcome.

The NVFPA meets quarterly on the 4th Thursday from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM. Here are the dates for 2021 (all are planned to be virtual over Zoom):

Fairfax County's Virtual Center for Active Adults

The goal of the Virtual Center for Active Adults is to enrich the lives of adults in Fairfax County while combatting isolation. Participants can connect with peers, engage in a variety of activities and discover useful resources. Programs can be joined live or watched on demand.

INOVA's Online Fitness Classess
In an effort to keep the community active and connected during the COVID-19 crisis, InovaWell’s Healthy Lifestyle program continues to offer a series of Virtual Fitness classes, available Monday – Friday at 11:00 a.m. All classes can be done from the comfort of home and will require little to no equipment. Exercise modifications are included.

NVFPA FREE Virtual SAIL Class 
The NVFPA will offer a FREE VIRTUAL SAIL session starting Monday January 11th. The class will be offered using Zoom on Mondays and Thursdays, 1 - 2 p.m until through April 29th. 
Outdoor fitness checks will be held (weather permitting) Saturday, January 9th, 1-3 p.m. at the Langston Center tennis courts, 2121 Culpepper St., Arlington, 22207. Information and details will be available on our website in early January.
