Aspirational Architecture - Lauriston House, Victoria, Australia
|
|
Lauriston House, a passive solar home designed by Seeley Architects, is a wonderful example of form and function. Its material palette includes local materials and textures to further connect the design with its surrounding landscape, sky and environs. It is a uniquely Australian response to shelter and uses a meticulously detailed and structured frame with a seemingly floating sinuous roof. As well as being highly sculptural, the build also incorporates a swag of passive design solutions. With solar principles, rainwater capture systems and the use of recycled natural products, this home has all the creature comforts while using minimal energy.
