Welcome again to your copy of the Black Pine Press newsletter (yes, it is a full moon tonight!).

This moon we have an Asian focus, both in materials and feature project.  We cover some old-school building materials that are getting a lot of attention here in NZ and if you're staying in Singapore soon, consider our feature hotel, it will do your heart good!

Thank you very much for your support over the last year.  We'll be back in 2020 with more building science, planet-friendly materials and aesthetic suggestions to support your health and well being.

Take care this summer and share freely your time, it is the best present!

Aspirational Architecture - PARKROYAL on Pickering | Singapore

The innovative design of the PARKROYAL on Pickering is a perfect response to Singapore's climate. Located on a narrow site in the city's Chinatown district, the hotel showcases large and curvaceous sky gardens which are cantilevered at intervals between the blocks of hotel rooms. The design features extensive greenery, including green walls, water features and 15,000 square meters of tiered gardens. Other green features include rainwater harvesting for watering plants, solar energy for lighting of landscaped areas and incorporating natural ventilation and light throughout the hotel's design.

Take a bird's eye view around Singapore's incredible Parkroyal on Pickering hotel.
