Coronavirus Covid-19 is the topic of the times and here at Black Pine ensuring robust business continuity practices has not been far from mind.
Last Thursday we trialled a work-from-home ‘self-isolation’ day. The three of us (yes, we are three now – see below) worked from our respective homes for the day, testing computer systems,
communication systems and general practices. With a few minor changes we made on the fly, it was a successful day. If you’d like to hear more about our experience, please feel free to give me a call to discuss, it’s a good practice to trial before you need it.
2020 sees Team Black Pine expand
This year we’ve been fortunate to welcome two highly talented members to the Black Pine team: Akshaya Baskar (R) and Emma de Bruin (L).
Amongst their many talents, they bring outstanding skills in graphics (helping our clients gain a better understanding of proposed designs) and extensive experience in Revit 3D modelling and documentation software (increasing our capacity for documentation output).
As well as bringing enthusiasm for healthy buildings and wellness focused developments, we’re also benefitting from an expanded range of studio music and a more global perspective!
Whanganui's exciting growth
Whanganui continues to outperform most centres in terms of growth. House prices have risen by more than 24% in the last 12 months and the median house price sits at an affordable $341K (REINZ: Jan 2020).
The attraction of lifestyle and affordability has contributed to a number of large sites hitting the market. These sites open up the possibility of greater residential and industrial development.
It seems it’s only a matter of time before medium density housing plays a larger part in Whanganui’s solution to keep up with the demand. Give us a call if you’d like to discuss regenerative options for development and/or adaptive reuse of our amazing stock of historic buildings. With the increase in regional investment, Whanganui is a great place to live and do business!
