SUMMER is here with five weeks to the MIDSUMMER SOLSTICE marked in the yoga calendar with 'International Yoga Day' on the 21st June.  This year the theme is:

 ‘Yoga for Harmony and Peace’

Join us wherever you are by finding time to unite in peace with yogis around the globe and practise ‘Surya Namaskar’.    If you are local to Forest Row join us to greet the dawn with ‘Mantra Chanting’ and contribute to our annual marathon of 144 rounds of  ‘Surya Namaskar’.  Or join us to honour the setting sun with 'Havan', the sacred fire ritual, to purify the body, mind and atmosphere and awaken auspicious energies to invoke blessings and grace in our lives.

Dr.Vijay Murthy is an ayurvedic doctor & naturopath providing complementary health care by integrating his vast clinical and research experience. Taking a functional medicine approach, Dr. Vijay helps individuals attain their best possible health potential in preventing and managing a wide range of chronic illnesses.

"The key to staying healthy and managing dis-ease effectively, is by personalising your nutrition.

It is easy to google various diets to experiment with. That is where you can go wrong as you are 'unique' and need to understand what is 'unique' about your biological makeup, your digestion, your hormones, your health, your weight and much more.  Ayurveda provides effective tools which offer a highly personalised approach to your nutritional needs, be it in health or ill health." Dr. Vijay Murthy

In this talk, you will learn how to understand your 'unique' constitution and how to modify your nutrition to achieve your specific health goals.

Dr.Vijay is committed to understanding the causes of his patients’ conditions and supporting them by taking non-invasive holistic and individualised approaches to regaining health.  His Masters in public health from the University of Auckland and PhD in Australia on women’s use of complementary and alternative medicine combined with continuous clinical practice has fine-tuned Dr.Vijay’s methods of practicing.

In his opening address of the 69th session of the General Assembly of the UN, Prime Minister Narendra Modi of India proposed an International Day of Yoga which was consequently endorsed by a record 175 member states on the 14th December 2014.

“Yoga is an invaluable gift from our ancient tradition. Yoga embodies unity of mind and body, thought and action ... a holistic approach [that] is valuable to our health and our well- being. Yoga is not just about exercise; it is a way to discover the sense of oneness with yourself, the world and the nature.”  Narendra Modi.
